Points for Purpose is a movement that makes it possible for people to use their loyalty points to make a direct difference to the lives of people in dire need.

We are currently focused on homelessness. We are asking people just like you to use their Qantas, Virgin and Flybuys points to buy specific products that our charity partners gift to very needy people.

About Us

Points for Purpose is all about encouraging people to spend their loyalty points on specific items that will make a direct difference to people in serious need.

We’re asking people just like you to spend their loyalty points (Qantas, Virgin and Flybuys) on products that will be life-changers to people who are at their lowest ebb. Currently we’re helping homeless people by taking donated sleeping bags and working with certified charities to get them to the people most in need.

We have big hearts and a big appetite to make the world a better place for everybody.

When every community takes care of their own – and makes sure that every homeless person has a warm night’s sleep, we can sleep easy.

The way we see it, when people give like this, everybody sleeps a little better.

Dave Drury is the founder of this cause. Following more than 20 years working on the digital side of the advertising industry for organisations all around the world, Dave has dedicated himself to being a social change ambassador. On his extensive world travels he’s seen poverty and desperation first-hand, but he has also seen just how people don’t need much at all to be happy.

Dave is on a mission to increase happiness, kindness and equality in the world, and Points for Purpose is doing just that.

The team at Points for Purpose is fully committed to getting Australians and New Zealanders to donate their loyalty points so that we may buy things that the underprivileged so desperately need.

Tragically, the homeless man in this video was stabbed to death on the streets of Sydney in January, 2017.

How do you sleep?

On March 19, 2017, we launched a song and music video called ‘How Do You Sleep?’

In February 2017, one of the earliest recipients of a sleeping bag was stabbed to death in Sydney. Upon hearing this tragic tale, singer-songwriter Ryan Edwards from New Zealand wrote the song “How do you sleep?”

He performs this song with his 15 year old daughter Lily-wai, and together they capture the sense of foreboding that accompanies every single night for a homeless person.

Ryan Edwards for his incredible gift of being able to shine a light on the small things that most of us take for granted. His words capture the very essence of what homelessness is.
